Take a day off from temple sightseeing and discover Cambodian village life. Experience life as a local and help out around the village by supporting a local charity tourism project

  • Join a local host family in a rural farming village and help out with daily tasks
  • Support responsible tourism and a local communities charity (5% of the tour price goes directly to the charity)

Transport

Itinerary
  • 8:00am hotel pick up
  • Meet your hosts at Kompheim Village with your English speaking guide
  • Help out with daily tasks
  • Picnic lunch of sandwiches (provided by operator to ensure high food safety standards. A Khmer meal will be provided for the host family)
  • 3:00pm/4:00pm return hotel drop

Travel Requirements

  • Travellers are responsible to ensure that all travel requirements are fulfilled prior to departure

  • Travellers are advised to consult Cambodia embassy if visa is required

  • We will be able to assist you in your visa application if you are a Singapore permanent residents or holding a Singapore employment pass or work pass for a service charge of S$25.00. This does not include the charges payable to the relevant authority for your visa application

Important notes
  • It is extremely important that you don't hand out gifts, sweets or money to these families or children. This can cause problems and jealousy within the village and among families and relatives. Should you wish to help beyond the tour, please discuss with the team
  • Please keep in mind that this is a real village, not one set up for tourists to visit, so you must be flexible as the tour will be adapted around ceremonies or village events

What to wear

  • Sturdy footwear like sneakers/trainers
  • Long sleeves and pants

  • No revealing clothing

Insider Tips

  • Every tour group has the opportunity to plant a fruit tree for your host family, providing food and income for the future (make sure to ask your guide about this)
